UFC 286: Leon Edwards Says Kamaru Usman is Entering Hostile Grounds

Leon Edwards is set to face Kamaru Usman at the O2 Arena almost three years after a Covid-induced delay caused their first bout to be consigned to the ranks of lost matches. Speaking ahead of the upcoming event, Edwards explains that “Now I’m going back as a world champion,” fueled by the desire to affirm his position to the world. During their last encounter, Usman bested Edwards, who lost from out grappling. However, in the later stages of the game, Edwards delivered a phenomenal kick, causing Usman to go down and leaving Edwards in shock and tears. Edwards acknowledged that he has to work hard to maintain his position as the champion and shares his strategy to avoid overconfidence, preventing the sort of complacency that may have contributed to Usman’s recent defeat.
