Jeff Molina, a UFC flyweight, recently shared on social media that he is bisexual, but he has admitted that it wasn’t the way he wanted to come out. The 25-year-old American athlete had previously worn the Pride symbol on his fight shorts. Molina posted on Twitter on March 17, stating, “Not the way I wanted to do this but the chance to do it when I was ready was taken from me. I’ve tried to keep my dating life private from social media.” He also explained that he had dated women his whole life while suppressing his feelings in high school and even throughout his college career as he pursued MMA. Molina mentioned that he is a masculine dude and that the idea of being treated differently by those he looks up to for something he can’t control terrified him. He did not want to be known as the bi UFC fighter, which, according to him, would just be translated to the gay UFC fighter. Coming out could have a significant impact on his career in the sport. Molina is currently suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and New York State Athletic Commission, accused of involvement in a betting scandal.
