Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in his UFC return, but the Irishman revealed that the original plan was for a third match against Nate Diaz. McGregor and Chandler have been taping a new season of “The Ultimate Fighter” in preparation for their own bout, but there is no set date, venue, or weight class. The former champion stated on The MMA Hour on March 15th that he had previously negotiated for a long-awaited trilogy with Diaz, after the two traded wins in 2016. McGregor stated that “The Ultimate Fighter” just presented itself, and that he didn’t care with whom he fought. Diaz had left the UFC in 2022 after submitting Tony Ferguson. McGregor also claimed he will face Diaz one more time in the future, as they both have a win and a loss against each other.
