After losing to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287, Alex Pereira has claimed that he is doing well. Adesanya had been unsuccessful in all three previous fights against Pereira, with two being kickboxing matches and the third being an MMA contest. However, on Saturday, April 8th, the Nigerian-New Zealander finally won in the second round, regaining the UFC middleweight title. Pereira had been defending the belt he won from Adesanya last November and as a result of the match, his title reign was brief. Despite the loss, Pereira updated social media on Sunday, thanking his team, supporters, and announcing that he is going to rest and continue with his plans. Pereira also posted a video of himself and Adesanya backstage after the fight. In their previous meetings, Pereira had narrowly outpointed Adesanya in kickboxing and then knocked him out in their rematch. The Brazilian then followed Adesanya to MMA and defeated him in their title fight in November, ending Adesanya’s impressive run with the gold.
