Iga Swiatek has won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for the second year in a row, defeating her closest rival Aryna Sabalenka in a 6-3 6-4 victory. The world number one, who had taken a short break to recover from a rib issue, saved the only break point she faced and was rock solid in the big moments of the close battle. A break for 5-3 in the opening set and holding confidently to the finish line secured Swiatek’s victory. It was her second title of the season amid a rankings lead cut. Swiatek expressed her excitement and congratulated Sabalenka for her amazing season in the on-court ceremony. She also drove her new Porsche prize around the court, while Sabalenka lamented her loss and expressed her desire to win the car in the future.
