Emma Raducanu, a young and promising tennis player, will miss the French Open and Wimbledon as she recovers from surgery on both hands and ankle. The 20-year-old British No 1 has been dealing with recurring injuries, including a hand injury that forced her to withdraw from the Madrid Open last week. Raducanu, who won the 2021 US Open, said in a statement that the surgeries will keep her out of competition for the “next few months,” missing the entire grass-court season. She expressed her disappointment that she won’t be able to participate in the summer events and thanked her fans for their support. Raducanu now plans to return to the court ahead of the US Open, which begins on August 28.
