Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu was forced to withdraw from her fourth-round match at the Miami Open after suffering a serious-looking ankle injury. The former US Open champion had been in good form since her return from injuries and mental health issues. During the third game of the second set against Ekaterina Alexandrova, Andreescu fell to the court crying in pain. She was taken off the court in a wheelchair. Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina continued their winning streaks in the tournament, beating their opponents soundly. American tennis player Jessica Pegula also secured her place in the quarter-finals after defeating Magda Linette. The Italian tennis player, Martina Trevisan, and Romanian player, Sorana Cirstea, also progressed to the quarter-finals. Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova also won her match against Varvara Gracheva in two sets.
