Mercedes boss Wolff responds to rumors of Charles Leclerc’s potential transfer

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has confirmed that Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is on the team’s “long-term radar,” but has dismissed rumors that Leclerc could replace Lewis Hamilton, who is out of contract with Mercedes at the end of the 2023 Formula One season. Leclerc’s contract with Ferrari expires at the end of the 2024 season. Wolff has said that he has only spoken to Leclerc to ask where the gate was in Melbourne airport. Furthermore, Leclerc himself has stated that he is fully committed to Ferrari and has not held any talks with Wolff. Hamilton has also dismissed the rumors and stated that the reports have not affected his contract negotiations. Wolff has emphasized that Mercedes is fully committed to re-signing Hamilton.
