Sergio Perez won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, beating Max Verstappen to boost his chances of winning the world championship. Perez made the most of an early safety car to take an advantage over Verstappen, who drives for Red Bull like him. Perez ultimately controlled the rest of the race, finishing 2.1 seconds ahead of Verstappen. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished third, with Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin in fourth. Lewis Hamilton, who races for Mercedes, finished sixth, two places ahead of his teammate, George Russell. Perez’s win brings him to within six points of Verstappen in the drivers’ standings. The entire race aired live on Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK. In the US, it was broadcast on ESPN. Channel 4 broadcasted highlights of the grand prix at 5:30 pm on Sunday.
