- A New Hampshire state representative, Sandra Panek, withdrew her support for Ron DeSantis and switched to Donald Trump after the Florida governor’s presidential campaign launch announcement experienced several glitches. Earlier this month, Panek and over 50 Granite State lawmakers endorsed DeSantis for president. However, in a statement, Panek expressed disappointment at the way the Florida governor handled his campaign launch, saying he cannot run the country if he can’t launch his campaign correctly. She added that the stakes are high in 2024 and America needs a proven winner like Trump in the White House. During DeSantis’s launch on Twitter Spaces, the live broadcast suffered several technical issues, including sound not working, leading to late start and ridicule on social media. Despite these problems, DeSantis’s campaign team managed to raise $8.2m within 24 hours, surpassing Joe Biden’s $6.3m and Beto O’Rourke’s $6.1m first-day campaign fundraising in 2019.
