Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the opposition in the UK, has been accused of being “shifty” regarding questions about Sue Gray, a former senior civil servant. He has been asked to disclose when contact with her about a top Labour job was first made. The Labour leader has refused to reveal the timeline of talks held with Gray about her becoming his chief of staff. Michael Gove, the Levelling Up Secretary, criticized Starmer for avoiding the question and said that revealing the contact would clear everything up. He also stated that it was wrong of Starmer to not be transparent. Grey recently left the Cabinet Office to work with Labour; however, she is now being investigated regarding the circumstances of her exit. Gove stated that Sir Keir Starmer was the only one who could clarify the situation but was avoiding it.
