Revamping our knowledge about the suspect behind the series of stabbings in UC Davis

A former UC Davis student, 21-year-old Carlos Dominguez, has been arrested in connection with three stabbings that occurred in the Davis area over the past week. The arrest follows concerns about a potential “serial killer” in California. Davis police, UC Davis police, and the FBI worked together to identify and arrest Mr Dominguez, who is being held at the Yolo County Jail on two counts of homicide and one count of attempted murder. He remains the only suspect arrested in connection with the case so far. Police believe he is responsible for all three stabbings. Authorities issued a search warrant for where Mr Dominguez lived with several roommates who have been interviewed by police. Mr Dominguez is from Oakland and was a former UC Davis student until being “separated” for “academic reasons” on 25 April. He had transferred from Laney College and had been in Davis for at least a couple of years. More information is expected to be released in the coming days as the investigation continues.
