Trump’s Parade Vs the People’s Protest: Two Very Different Versions of America

As President Donald Trump rallied the troops to Washington, DC on June 14—the date of the United States Army’s 250th anniversary, Flag Day, and his birthday—tens of millions of his constituents joined within the national “No Kings” march.

It was once a conflicting, polar day in America. In one town, a parade costing tens of tens of millions of greenbacks was once entire with robotic army canine strolling down the road, the president being serenaded by way of a crowd making a song Happy Birthday, and 1000’s of Army provider individuals marching in rows. In a town simply North of DC, on the flagship No Kings rally in Philadelphia, an estimated 80,000 other people referred to as out chants that experience turn into acquainted since 2016, like “Hey-hey!
