“She’s come an amazing way. Alexa, we are so proud of you.”

Leary pointed to her robust mentality in a talk with journalists after her 50m freestyle win.

“It shocks me as to how far I have come.

“It’s been a large adventure for me and I’m best getting higher and higher.”
