‘She is a train wreck of a mayor,’ Noem continued, as she accused the mayor of ‘endorsing’ criminal activities and allowed the city ‘to be completely devastated with crime.’

‘Now she’s holding press conferences talking about the fact that people have the right to peacefully protest and that they’re a city of immigrants, well, they’re not a city of immigrants – they are a city of criminals, because she has protected them for so many years,’ she claimed.

Even some of the rioters were furious with their fellow demonstrators, one saying: ‘It makes us look bad!’

‘Don’t lose focus!’ another was heard yelling.

At about 6 pm local time, LAPD armed with less lethal bullets pushed more than 2,000 people north on Los Angeles Street and away from the 101 Freeway entrance on Alameda Street.

The case is one of nine that the AG’s office has opened in connection to the Los Angeles riots.

Mayor Karen Bass decries ICE raids

Mayor Karen Bass decried the ICE raids that sparked the massive riots – saying they were unneccesary and targeted people like day laborers at a Home Depot, not the criminals the Trump administration claimed it would prioritize for deportation.

‘Nothing warranted the raids,’ she argued. ‘If you remember at the beginning of this administration, we were told that raids would be to look for violent criminals, people who have warrants.’

‘But I don’t know how you go from a drug dealer to a Home Depot, to people’s workplaces where they’re just trying to make a living,’ she argued.

The mayor then pleaded with the federal government to ‘Stop the raids.’

‘I hope that we will be heard because our city is trying to move forward, and I believe the federal government should be supportive.’

‘This is the direct result of Democratic politicians who weaken our laws, undermine law enforcement, and encourage lawlessness,’ she continued, saying it is ‘tragic that Democrats gave illegal immigrants false hope that they could stay regardless of their crimes.

‘The first 2,000? Given no food or water. Only approx. 300 are deployed — the rest are sitting, unused, in federal buildings without orders,’ he claimed.

‘This isn’t about public safety. It’s about stroking a dangerous President’s ego.

‘This is Reckless. Pointless. And Disrespectful to our troops.’

The announcement came just moments before California state representatives officially filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump administration for sending in the National Guard.

California Attorney General claims a president has federalized the National Guard only once before

A president has only federalized the National Guard one time before Donald Trump sent the troops to LA, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

Newsom accuses Trump of ‘creating fear and terror’

Governor Gavin Newsom claimed Donald Trump manufactured ‘fear and terror’ to take over the state’s militia.

‘This is a manufactured crisis. He is creating fear and terror to take over a state militia and violate the U.S. constitution,’ he said on X.

‘The illegal order he signed could allow him to send the military into ANY STATE HE WISHES.’

Newsom confirmed the state’s lawsuit against the administration and call Trump’s deployment of the National Guard ‘an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.’

Rep. Norma Torres took to TikTok on Friday as riots were breaking out across Los Angeles, demanding immigration officers leave the city.

‘ICE get the f*** out of LA so that order can be restored,’ the congresswoman said in the video, which has since gone viral and been re-shared on multiple platforms.

Conservatives were quick to blast Torres (D-Calif.) over the remark, with many suggesting she is a ‘lunatic’ and should face ‘consequences’ for ‘fighting against the legal actions of the federal government’.

California union leader charged

Service Employees International Union California President David Huerta, who was arrested during an ICE raid on Friday, has been charged with conspiring to impede an officer.

Huerta was arrested for obstructing immigration officials executing a warrant, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.

In a court affidavit obtained by the Associated Press, a homeland security agent wrote that law enforcement officers were executing a federal search warrant Friday at a Los Angeles business suspected of hiring illegal immigrants and falsifying employment records when Huerta and others appeared to try to disrupt the operation.

A law enforcement officer approached Huerta and told him to leave, then put his hands on Huerta to move him out of the way of a vehicle, the agent wrote.

The agent said Huerta pushed back and the officer pushed Huerta to the ground and arrested him.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ‘ignored’ request to rescind troops

California Attorney General Rob Bonta claimed the Secretary of Defense ignored a request from Gov. Gavin Newsom to rescind the National Guard.

‘Yesterday afternoon Gov. Newsom actually sent a letter Mr. Hegseth requesting that the secretary rescind the unlawful deployment of troops and return them to the governor’s command,’ Bonta said. ‘The request was ignored.’

California Attorney General announces lawsuit over Trump’s National Guard deployment

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a lawsuit against the Trump Administration for ‘unlawfully’ deploying the National Guard.

‘In the early hours of Sunday morning, President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unlawfully federalized 2,000 California National Guard troops for 60 days with no indication as to when they intend to stand down,’ Bonata said during a press conference Monday.

‘They did so without authorization from Gov. Newsom and against the wishes of local law enforcement.’

He claimed the protests were ‘mostly dissipated’ when the National Guard troops arrived.

‘Since Trump announced his plan to deploy troops, the situation on the ground has escalated quickly with unrest growing overnight, causing highways to close and putting people in danger,’ Bonta said.

‘We’ll never know what might have been had the president left our state and local authorities to continue the important work they were already doing and were more than capable of doing.’

One thousand National Guard members on the ground in LA

U.S. officials told The Associated Press there are currently about 1,000 National Guard members on the ground in Los Angeles.

Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to assist the police in quelling the unrest, and roughly 300 National Guard members arrived in the city over the weekend.

Officials said that they believe that the full 2,000 that the president has put on federal Title 10 orders will be on the ground there by the end of the day.

Disturbing footage shows looters breaking into T-Mobile store

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum fanned the flames of the ongoing riots in Los Angeles, calling Mexican migrants living in the US ‘heroes’ while blasting the immigration policies of President Trump.

‘We disagree with this approach to the migration phenomenon,’ Sheinbaum said during a press conference Sunday afternoon in San Andrés Cholula, Puebla.

‘It’s not about raids or violence, but rather working on a comprehensive reform that takes into account the Mexicans on the other side of the border,’ she added. ‘That is our position, always a call for peace, to not exacerbate any form of violent protest.’

Sheinbaum said that 35 Mexican nationals were arrested by ICE agents as part of Trump’s deportation efforts.

‘Mexicans living in the United States are good, honest men and women who left to seek a better life for themselves and to support their families,’ she said at her press conference. ‘They are not criminals.’

Gavin Newsom responds to Trump’s call for his arrest

‘The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America,’ Newsom said on X.

‘I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.’

A senior administration official revealed to DailyMail.com the violent pasts of illegal immigrants detained in LA, including ones convicted of cruelty against children, manslaughter and molestation.

Arrested union leader set to appear in federal court on Monday

Service Employees International Union California President David Huerta, who was arrested during an ICE raid on Friday, will appear in court on Monday.

Huerta was arrested for obstructing immigration officials executing a warrant, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.

‘Federal agents were executing a lawful judicial warrant at a LA worksite this morning when David Huerta deliberately obstructed their access by blocking their vehicle,’ Essayli said.

‘He was arrested for interfering with federal officers and will face arraignment in federal court on Monday.

‘Let me be clear: I don’t care who you are—if you impede federal agents, you will be arrested and prosecuted. No one has the right to assault, obstruct, or interfere with federal authorities carrying out their duties.’

Donald Trump said he would support arresting California Gov. Gavin Newsom and called the rioters in Los Angeles ‘insurrectionists.’

‘I would do it,’ the president said when asked about Newsom daring his administration to arrest him.

‘I like Gavin Newsom, he’s a nice guy but he’s grossly incompetent, everybody knows it,’ the president added.

Border czar Tom Homan shares the real reason for raids that kicked off LA protests

Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, revealed that the raids that ignited the LA protests were part of a thorough criminal investigation – not a random migrant round-up.

Homan explained on MSNBC that the raids that took place in downtown Los Angeles were the result of a criminal investigation into money laundering.

‘That’s why no one is talking about the Fashion District, it wasn’t an immigration raid. It was to service of three criminal warrants at locations based on a large criminal conspiracy that ICE is investigating,’ Homan said.

‘That has to do with money laundering, tax evasion and customs fraud where a company under-declared over $80 million in goods, failed to pay $17 million in fees. And it’s part of an overall conspiracy on numerous businesses that they believe that some of this money is being laundered in Mexico and Colombia, the cartel activity.’

Homan noted the raids were no unsolicited migrant round-ups, but specific arrests were made based on warrants.

‘So, this was a criminal investigation that they all responded to in the beginning. That’s how it all started. But the facts never got out,’ he said.

Trump doubles down on ‘great decision’ to deploy National Guard

The president defended his decision to deploy the National Guard in California without the governor’s permission.

‘We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent, instigated riots in California,’ Trump said on Truth Social.

‘If we had not done so, Los Angeles would have been completely obliterated. The very incompetent “Governor,”  Gavin Newscum, and “Mayor,’ Karen Bass, should be saying, “THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP.”

ABC7 reporter Tim Caputo insisted that the ‘vast majority’ of protestors involved in the demonstrations were ‘people taking videos [and] people waving flags’ during his one-the-ground report.

He made the remarks as black smoke billowed into the air behind him and a loud explosion could be heard in the distance.

Los Angeles Mayor calls ICE raids ‘fuel for a fire’

Mayor Karen Bass claimed the immigration raids in Los Angeles on Friday sparked the violent protests over the weekend.

‘If you dial back time and go to Friday, if immigration raids had not happened here, we would not have had the disorder that went on last night,’ Bass told CNN.

‘We do not know where and when the next raids will be. That is the concern because people in this city have a rapid response network. If they see ICE, they go out, and they protest, and so it’s just a recipe for pandemonium that is completely unnecessary.’

She insisted that the chaos was isolated and the city is under control.

‘This is not citywide civil unrest taking place in Los Angeles. A few streets downtown – it looks horrible. People committed crimes,’ Bass said.

‘It is absolutely unacceptable, and those people that set cars on fire or did other forms of vandalism will be sought to be arrested and prosecuted.’

Last time a president deployed the National Guard without a governor’s permission was 1965

No president has done so since Lyndon B. Johnson sent troops to protect a civil rights march in Alabama, according to the Brennan Center for Justice.

Johnson, unlike Trump, invoked the Insurrection Act, an 18th-century wartime law that allows presidents to deploy military forces during times of rebellion or unrest.

Trump invoked Title 10 authority, a legal provision allowing him to deploy federal service members when there is ‘a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.’

Roughly 300 National Guard members arrived in the city over the weekend, and Trump said he had authorized 2,000 members to deploy if needed.

Republicans defend Trump decision to deploy National Guard

MAGA loyalists have defended the president’s decision to deploy the National Guard to California without the governor’s permission.

Vice President JD Vance said, ‘This moment calls for decisive leadership. The president will not tolerate rioting and violence.’

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said, ‘There is plenty of room for peaceful protest, but ZERO tolerance for attacking federal agents who are doing their job. The National Guard, and Marines if need be, stand with ICE.’

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, ‘Federal law enforcement officers were attacked by violent radicals and illegal criminals waving foreign flags because Governor Newsom was too weak to protect the city.

‘The Los Angeles Police Chief has even said the riots were getting out of hand. President Trump has stepped in to maintain law and order and protect federal buildings.’

Don Jr. shares ‘Rooftop Korean’ meme as chaos erupts in Los Angeles

There are no confirmed reports that anyone was shot or killed by the ‘Rooftop Koreans.’

Border Czar Tom Homan insists ‘there was no discussion’ about arresting California Governor

Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan clarified that he was not calling for Gavin Newsom’s arrest over the weekend.

On Sunday, Homan warned the governor: ‘It’s a felony to knowingly conceal and harbor an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement from doing their job.’

However, he insisted on Monday that there was no actual discussion about arresting him.

‘I’ve said it many times. You an protest, get your First Amendment rights, but when you cross that line, you put hands on [an] ICE officer, or you destroy property, you impede law enforcement or you knowingly harbor or conceal it in any way, that’s a crime, and that, the Trump administration is not going to tolerate,’ Homan told Fox News.

‘The reporter asked me, well, could govern Governor Newsom or Mayor Bass be arrested? I said, well no one’s above the law — if they cross the line and commit a crime, absolutely they can.

‘There was no discussion about arresting Newsom.’

The unsettling figures showing why Trump sent in the National Guard to deal with the LA riots

The Los Angeles Police Department has faced a massive staffing shortage in recent years, leaving fewer officers to combat the violence that erupted over the weekend.

Los Angeles has fewer police per capita than many major cities, with only 246 officers per 100,000 residents, according to Governing.com.

Recent projections indicate that the LAPD could be facing its lowest staffing level since 1995 this fiscal year, reported the Los Angeles Times.

LAPD leaders expect to lose more than 150 officers, resulting in a force of approximately 8,620. Officials have argued that 10,000 officers are needed to ensure public safety.

Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to assist the police in quelling the unrest.

Roughly 300 National Guard members arrived in the city over the weekend, and Trump said he had authorized 2,000 members to deploy if needed.

‘This violence that I’ve seen is disgusting. It’s escalated now since the beginning of this incident. What we saw the first night was bad,’ he said.

‘Burn, burn, burn,’ the protesters cheered.

At least five Waymo self-driving cars were set alight and vandalized, prompting an indefinite shutdown of Los Angeles St north of Arcadia, and south of Alameda amid safety concerns about the lithium batteries.

He accused the president of trying to manufacture a crisis and of violating California’s state sovereignty.

In a social media post, Trump called on McDonnell to do so.
