Bengaluru Tragedy: FIR Filed Against RCB, Event Organizers, KSCA Over Stampede Incident

Bengaluru Stampede: FIR filed towards Royal Challengers Bengaluru, match supervisor,  KSCA Administrative Committee and others over the Bengaluru stampede. FIR mentioned legal negligence within the incident, as reported through ANI.

FIR filed towards RCB, DNA (match supervisor), KSCA Administrative Committee and others at Cubbon Park Police Station. FIR mentioned legal negligence within the stampede incident. Sections 105, 125 (1)(2), 132, 121/1, 190 R/w 3 (5) had been invoked within the FIR, ANI reported.


“An FIR has been filed against RCB, DNA (event manager), Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Administrative Committee and others at Cubbon Park Police Station,” ANI quoted  Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Bengaluru, Shekar H Tekkannanavar as announcing. 


Taking suo motu cognisance of the Bengaluru stampede case, the Karnataka High Court has scheduled the following listening to of the case for June 10. The Court has additionally sought a file from the  Congress-led Karnataka executive at the lapses and different main points in regards to the stampede incident. 

Eleven other people had been killed and 47 other people had been injured in a stampede on Wednesday out of doors the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, all the way through the victory celebrations of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The injured had been admitted to Bowring and Vydehi Hospitals.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday introduced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kinfolk of 11 sufferers of the stampede.

“The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief,” Royal Challengers Bengaluru mentioned in a submit on X. 

Condemning the incident BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan blamed the state executive for it.

“I strongly condemn the Bengaluru incident in which 11 lives were lost. The Karnataka government should have taken concrete steps. The state government should be very careful in handling the crowd. The Karnataka government was blaming the UP government for Kumbh, but look what has happened there,” ANI quoted Tamilisai as announcing. 

Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday demanded Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation over the incident.
