Amazon plans to spend $10 billion on new knowledge facilities in North Carolina to increase its synthetic intelligence infrastructure, the corporate stated Wednesday.
Amazon has earmarked as much as $100 billion this yr on capital expenditures, with the lion’s proportion going to AI-related tasks. The funding in North Carolina will create 500 jobs within the state, Amazon stated.
“Generative AI is driving increased demand for advanced cloud infrastructure and compute power, and our investment will support the future of AI from AWS data centers in the Tar Heel State,” the corporate wrote in a weblog submit.
