A shaggy dog story about punctuation has been selected because the funniest in a contest run via the Beano comedian.
Year 5 pupils at Riverley number one college in Leyton, east London, received the accolade with their shaggy dog story: What do you name the fanciest punctuation? An a-posh-trophe.
Their elegance trainer, Maisha Mahfuza, used to be named Britain’s funniest trainer.
The winners shall be featured on this week’s 4,290th version of the Beano, drawn via the famend artist Nigel Parkinson.
A panel of the comedian’s professional gag makers narrowed down the wittiest submissions to their favorite 10 finalists sooner than handing the overall resolution to a public vote.
Mike Stirling, the director of mischief on the Beano, stated: “As the only comic where kids are in charge, Beano continues to celebrate childhood in all its mischievous, screen-free glory. The successful college will obtain the reliable Beano “Britain’s Funniest Class” trophy, Gnasher badges and comedian subscriptions for the entire elegance.
