It really matters to the players and coaches. It pushes us to play and coach even better, and for people to really see the value of men’s volleyball here in the Philippines.”

“I hope their support for men’s volleyball continues and that they don’t get tired of showing up. They saw for themselves how exciting men’s games can be,” he added.

Alinsunurin, now a seven-time champion, mirrored on how NU emerged as a dominant volleyball college from its humble beginnings.

“We’re just so thankful for how things turned out. We really worked hard from the beginning, especially when it was hard to recruit because people didn’t even know about the team. No one paid attention to us. But everything we worked for is finally paying off,” stated an emotional NU trainer.

“We don’t just want to be champions, we want our players to grow, not just in the Philippines but even internationally. That’s how the program will really improve, not just for NU, but for the whole country.”

Alinsunurin additionally celebrated a golden double for NU, with shut good friend Sherwin Meneses main the Lady Bulldogs to the UAAP girls’s identify in his first season on the helm.
