TALK OF THE TOWN: Pull the opposite one! Police probe ‘beer puppet’ at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub

Yet a consuming sport happening within the Cotswolds pub the king of the reckless Top Gear stunts now owns was once investigated by means of police after a slightly po-faced grievance was once made that it inspired ‘irresponsible’ alcohol intake.

The complainant was once it seems that unimpressed by means of the shenanigans at The Farmer’s Dog involving a ‘beer puppeteer’ contraption, proper, imported from Germany.

However, following the grievance, I’m instructed the police had been compelled to test whether or not the novel sport supposed the pub – as featured within the Amazon Prime Video display Clarkson’s Farm – was once breaching licensing regulations.

Yet the council seemed to admire the humorous aspect. Andrea Thomas, licensing officer for West Oxfordshire District Council, mentioned: ‘After reviewing the game with the police licensing officer, we do not deem it to be a breach of any granted licences, and no further action will be taken.

‘We do not deem it as irresponsible, rather part of promotion for the establishment which does not impact the licence.’

And Clarkson didn’t even wish to pull any strings to get that end result!
