Police probe hate crime over elimination of pleasure flags on Arran

Police are investigating the elimination of Pride decorations from a side road in Arran as a hate crime.

Officers at the island introduced a probe after flags have been pulled down from Main Street in Brodick between 02:00 and 07:00, forward of the Arran Pride match.

Reports on social media mentioned one of the flags have been torn from their posts and later discovered dumped at the seashore.

Organisers of the development mentioned that they had been made conscious that decorations have been got rid of by means of “an unknown group”.
