But the center of the 20th century introduced primary redevelopment to the north finish of the park, together with a venture that encased the meer in a concrete maintaining wall. Much of the panorama used to be paved over and constructed up, together with with an ice rink/pool. During town’s monetary disaster of the 1970s, this northern phase of the park – which is surrounded via much less prosperous, traditionally Black and Latino neighborhoods – fell into disrepair.
