Murder arrest after guy’s loss of life on Southampton cruise send

A 57-year-old guy has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after the loss of life of a 60-year-old guy on a cruise send in British waters.

The loss of life reportedly adopted an altercation on MSC Virtuosa at 20:30 BST on Saturday, police mentioned.

The send had left Southampton at 18:00 that night on a two-night tour to Bruges, Belgium.

A person from Exeter was once arrested and stays in custody.

Det Ch Insp Matt Gillooly, from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, mentioned: “We want to reassure you that this appears to be an isolated incident on board, and we want to thank the crew for their cooperation and assistance with our inquiries.”

The detective appealed for info from team and passengers.

The send returned from Bruges at 06:00 on Monday and stays in Southampton.

In a remark, MSC Cruises mentioned: “Following an incident on board our ship, the relevant authorities were contacted and we are cooperating fully with their investigations.

“We are offering complete reinforce to these impacted.”
