The circle of relatives of 14-year-old Layton Carr, who died on the scene of fireplace at an business property, have described him as “a kind, caring and loving boy”.
A blaze broke out at a construction on Fairfield Industrial Park within the Bill Quay space of Gateshead on Friday night.
Eleven boys and 3 women, elderly between 11 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, and police have showed two extra boys, elderly 12, have been additionally arrested. All 16 kids were launched on bail.
In a tribute, Layton’s circle of relatives stated: “Layton was your typical 14-year-old lad, a cheeky, happy lad. Despite his cheeky side Layton had an absolute heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.”
