Instacart names Chris Rogers as CEO after Fidji Simo’s go out for OpenAI

Instacart on Wednesday appointed industry leader Chris Rogers as its new CEO, not up to a month after OpenAI introduced CEO Fidji Simo as its new head of packages.

Shares have been flat.

Rogers, who joined Instacart in 2019, will get started Aug. 15 and sign up for the board of administrators. Simo will retain her chair place to “smooth the transition,” the corporate stated.

“Over the last four years, we’ve transformed Instacart into a growing, profitable, leading technology platform that’s helping reshape the grocery industry,” Simo stated in a free up. “We’re building a generational company at the intersection of technology and food, and Chris is the right leader for our next chapter.”
