India-Pakistan Tensions: China Offers To Play Constructive Role As FM Wang Yi Speaks With NSA Doval

In the wake of Pakistan’s violation of the lately introduced ceasefire settlement with India, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi mentioned Beijing is able to play a “constructive role” in de-escalating tensions between the 2 neighbours. According to a commentary from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi held a telephonic dialog with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. During the decision, Doval reportedly conveyed that the new terrorist assault in Pahalgam led to critical casualties and necessitated counter-terrorism movements by way of India.

“War is not India’s choice and it serves no one’s interests. India and Pakistan are committed to a ceasefire and seek to restore regional peace and stability at the earliest,” the commentary quoted Doval as pronouncing.

Reiterating China’s place, Wang Yi mentioned that Beijing helps efforts by way of each countries to reach a complete and enduring ceasefire via discussion and mutual session.
