Essendon ahead Matt Guelfi has published how he wound up having dinner with NFL famous person Joe Burrow at widespread Melbourne eating place Nobu.
The famous person quarterback used to be in Victoria in January to take a look at the Australian Open and the Bomber concept he’d check out his success and ship Burrow a message on Instagram.
The NFL famous person answered and the pair, together with teammate Jayden Laverde, ended up getting dinner in combination.

Guelfi says he used to be slightly worried when he checked his telephone and noticed the reaction.
“I saw he was in Melbourne so I thought I’d throw out a message, thinking nothing of it, thinking he wouldn’t reply,” Guelfi informed Nine’s Players.
“I’m at training and I get off the track and he’s replied to me and I’m absolutely shitting myself. I was thinking about everything I was going to do … trying to act cool, not give too little, not give too much.
“He used to be like, ‘yeah, we’re going to get a feed’ and stuff, so we went to Nobu, me, him and Jayden Laverde, and I used to be seeking to act cool.”
Burrow signed a $424m AUD contract in 2023 with the Bengals, and led them to a Super Bowl appearance in 2021.
“He (paid the invoice),” Guelfi added.
“It used to be humorous. Me and Jayden were given as much as get our bank cards out and he is like ‘boys, come on’, pulls out his American Express card.”

As for what they discussed at dinner?
“He’s a large gamer. He streams (video video games). He cannot pass out a lot in Cincinnati as a result of it is a small the town,” Guelfi added.
“He stated when he needs to look at a film, he has to guide out a complete film theatre.
“That’s why he loved Melbourne because not a heap of people knew him. There was one guy who came up to him, but that’s about it.”
Guelfi has performed 110 profession video games for the Bombers, together with his first of the 2025 season in opposition to Richmond final Friday evening.
