Govt Imposes Wheat Stock Limits On Traders To Keep Prices In Check

New Delhi: The Centre has imposed inventory limits on wheat acceptable to investors/wholesalers, shops, large chain shops and processors in an effort to save you hoarding and hypothesis that drives up inflation. 

“In order to regulate the total meals safety and to stop hoarding and unscrupulous hypothesis, the Government of India has imposed inventory limits on wheat acceptable to wholesalers, shops, large chain shops, and processors in all states and Union Territories,” the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution mentioned on Thursday.


The Wheat Stock prohibit are as beneath:

(i) Traders/Wholesaler: 3000 MT;

(ii) Retailer:  10 MT for each and every Retail outlet.

(iii) Big Chain Retailer: upto 10 MT for each and every retail outlet topic to most amount of (10 multiplied by way of overall no. of retailers) MT. This would be the most inventory that may be held in any respect their shops and depots put in combination.

(iv) Processors: 70% of Monthly Installed Capacity (MIC) multiplied by way of ultimate months of FY 2025-26.
