Phillipson, who managed a women’s refuge before becoming an MP, said it was important that “girls – particularly those that have skilled male violence, sexual violence and trauma – are in a position to get admission to secure, healing areas” while ensuring that “everybody in our society is handled with dignity and recognize”.

She said these women-only spaces could now be “assured as to how they ship products and services” as the Supreme Court had “set that past doubt”.
