SNL superstar concurs with backlash over display’s ‘imply’ caricature: ‘Completely legitimate’

Saturday Night Live (SNL) superstar Bowen Yang has spoken out at the debacle referring to the display’s parody of Aimee Lou Wood.

During a contemporary episode of the caricature comedy display, a caricature known as ‘The White Potus’ noticed solid member Sarah Sherman imitate Wood with a couple of pronounced faux enamel, with The White Lotus actress later taking to Instagram to name the caricature “mean and unfunny”.

Despite many pronouncing that Wood’s reaction was once an ‘overreaction’, Yang disagrees.

“However she reacted to that sketch is completely valid,” he informed Extra.

“With parody, you kind of forget the sort of human, emotional cost that it sort of extols on someone.”

Sherman (the forged member who portrayed Wood) in my opinion apologised to the actress, with SNL additionally reportedly issuing a personal apology.

Yang has stated that Wood’s response to the caricature is a great reminder for himself and fellow comedians to remember the affect their jokes may have on real-life folks.

“It’s this thing that we tend to forget sometimes, and this is a reminder,” he stated.

The actress also made sure to clarify she wasn’t blaming Sherman for the sketch, but was rather “hating on the concept that”.
