Newtownards: Woman dies in three-vehicle crash on Portaferry Road

A lady in her 60s has died after a crash involving 3 cars close to Newtownards in County Down.

Police stated it took place at the Portaferry Road in a while after 10:20 BST on Friday.

Insp Cherith Adair stated: “A red-coloured lorry travelling towards Greyabbey had been involved in a collision with a silver Citroen Berlingo people carrier and a white Audi A3 car travelling in the direction of Newtownards.”

A passenger within the Citroen died on the scene.

Eight people – 3 males, two ladies and 3 kids – have been taken to health center for remedy.

The Portaferry Road was once closed for a number of hours whilst crash investigators tested the scene nevertheless it has since been reopened.
